Applicants must meet certain criteria.

Here is a concise explanation. 

The applicant (or person/s for whom the application is made) must be under 21 and must have permanent residency not more than 50 miles from Preston Town Hall.

The Trust helps those people, as above, who are in need, hardship and distress.

Shepherd Street Trust provides funds to such persons with a view to:

• support educational, social and physical training needs.

• provide funds for outfits, clothing, tools, instruments, equipment which will help to further education or entry into a profession, trade or calling.

• assist towards facilities for recreation or other leisure occupations in the interests of social welfare.

The Trust also donates funds in order to

• support charitable institutions or organisations which help such persons.

• assist the children's ward primarily at Preston Royal Infirmary
